Obituary

Bert Monroe Grigg was born March 23, 1919 in Middleton, Arkansas to the union of Monroe H. Grigg and Theodora E. Grigg and passed from this life on June 11, 2014.
Bert and his family moved to Salina, Oklahoma area when he was four years old. He attended Boatman Grade School through the fifth grade and Salina School for sixth grade through high school. He graduated from high school in 1938. While attending high school, Bert met Eva Louise Jones and they were married on November 27, 1940.
Bert attended a college held in the Pryor High School building for one year in 1939 and attended Northeastern University at Tahlequah in 1940 and 1941. He was employed by Douglas Aircraft prior to World War II. He served in the Army in the Asian Pacific Theater Operation and was discharged November 27, 1946. He then went to work for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1948 as a State Trooper. During that time he attended Tulsa University College of Law and received his Juris Doctorate in 1955. He practiced law in the Tulsa area for over fifty years.
Bert never forgot his roots, he was always a farm boy at heart. He raised cattle and had farming interests in both Mayes and Tulsa counties. Bert was a Mason and had been for over fifty years at the time of his passing.
Bert was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Eva, his parents Monroe and Theodora Grigg, he and his wife's infant son, Gregory Grigg, four sisters; Ora Bewley, Essie Meadows, Artie
Thornton, and Vergie Craig, and his two brothers Ray Grigg and Earl Grigg.
Bert is survived by two his two children; Ronald Grigg and Beverly Robertson, 5 grandchildren; Jonna Reynolds, Ashley Dean White, Robert Grigg, David Grigg and Carrie House; 6 great grandchilren; David Earl Grigg, Dylan Grigg, Reid Grigg, Robert Michael Grigg, Zoe McCabe and Jackson House and 2 sisters; Bonnie Day and Retta Crawford.
Bert was beloved by many and will be greatly missed by his many friends, family members and fishing buddies. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those who needed him and always ready to help with any legal question. His word was his bond, and a wonderful example of what a honorable man should be.
A celebration of his life will be held on June 16, 2014 at 1 P.M. at Moore's Eastlawn Funeral
