Bertie Robert Sherrell, Jr., born October 21, 1934, passed away July 28, 2014 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa. Bertie was a life time resident of Tulsa, OK. His parents were Bertie Robert Sherrell, Sr. and Sharon Steagald Witmer and grandparents were Simon and Viola Sherrell also longtime residents of Tulsa. He survived by his wife Sharon L. Sherrell. Bert graduated from Central High School, Tulsa and Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK with a degree from the School of Engineering. While attending OSU, he was a member of ROTC. After graduating from OSU, Bert served his country in the US Army as a helicopter pilot. He retired from the US Army Corp of Engineers. Bert volunteered his time and services in many areas of the community such as the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. During the early years of his engineering career he participated in the US Space programs. He was a member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church South in Tulsa. His surviving sons are: Stuart Sherrell and grandson Aaron of Phoenix, AZ.\, Kenneth Sherrell and wife Tamra and grandchildren Skye and Grayson from Nashville, TN, Jon and Katie from Tulsa and great grandson Liam. Step-sons, Eddie Bridges and wife Brenda and grandchildren Carlin, Devin and Keegan from Charlotte, NC, Loren Bridges and wife Julie from Phoenix, AZ, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Surviving sisters: Pat R. Smith from Mann, OK and Joan Brown and husband David from Grove, OK. Brother Timothy C. Sherrell and wife Lisa from Clearlake Oaks, CA. He is preceded in death by his brother David and James Sherrell. Visitation 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2014 Moore's Eastlawn Chapel and Service 10:00 AM Friday, August 1, 2014 Kirk or the Hills Presbyterian Church with interment Masham Cemetery in Pawnee, OK.
