Bettie Jo Brown passed away peacefully at Southern Hills Retirement Center on October 23, 2019 at the age of 91.
Bettie is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Zane Brown, father Carl Aery, mother Vera Aery, brother Burl Aery, brother Carl Aery, and sister Patricia (Aery) Larson. Bettie is lovingly remembered by son Ronald Rex Brown and daughter-in-law Deborah Schilling Brown, her son, Dana Zane Brown, grandson David Jonathon Brown, sister Barbara Korte and brother-in-law Clem Korte, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Bettie was born in Tulsa, OK on November 10th,1927. She graduated from Central High School in 1945 and stayed at home to help raise her younger siblings before marrying. After starting her own family with husband, Zane, she began working as an Office Manager for a local construction supply, a career that would last 30 years before retirement. Only a few years later Bettie came out of retirement to become the receptionist for Southern Hills Retirement Center. Nearly a decade later she retired for good in 2006.
In the late 1960's Bettie joined the Tulsa Chapter of American Business Women's Association (ABWA) and was named ABWA "Woman of the Year".
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of the Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care and Southern Hills Retirement Center. Their dedication and effort to provide quality, loving care over the years was heartwarming, and a blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of her life and the blessing of the time we spent with Bettie.
The visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home located at 9350 E. 51st St. on Sunday, October 27th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The funeral service celebration of life will be held at Memorial Park Chapel, 5111 S. Memorial on Monday, October 28th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
