Bettie Jean (Shea) House's wish came true on May 31, 2020, when she left our world and joined her beloved husband, Randolph (Randy) House. Bettie was born April 20, 1920, in Tulsa, OK to Goldie and Edward Shea. She attended Tulsa University where she met the love of her life. She and Randy married in San Luis Obispo in 1942 before he left with the Army for the Philippines in WWII. She had their first son, Larry, in 1943 and a daughter, Marsha Bass, in 1946.
Bettie was an accomplished artist working as a commercial artist at times but enjoyed most giving family and friends her beautiful art. Bettie learned to play the piano by ear as an adult and still played for the residents at the assisted living home this past year at age 99. She was an excellent golfer, making 3 holes in one by the time she was 70 and an excellent bridge player.
She and Randy had a wonderful life. Together they raised two children, Larry and Marsha, while also enjoying playing bridge, dancing to the big band music, socializing with their many Tulsa friends and spending time on the golf course, mostly at Tulsa Country Club. They were members of The Church of Resurrection in Tulsa for many years.
Bettie was preceded in death by Randy House in 1996; brother, Richard Shea; sister, Billye Bradley; son-in-law, Jerry Bass and her parents, Edward and Goldie Shea. She is survived by her son, Larry (Carol) Durango, CO; daughter, Marsha Bass, Jackson, MS and 5 grandchildren, Dana Welch (Steve), Michael House (Amy), Darren Furman (Samantha), Jesse House (Jodie), Darcy and 7 great-grandchildren.
No services are planned because of social distancing and travel issues. The family would love for anyone to share memories on the Moore Rosewood Funeral Home website, Tulsa, OK.
