Betty Disher Bates, 72, Tulsa resident, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019, at her home. Betty was born Thursday, August 4, 1947, to Pershing Amuse Disher and Mary Jo (Howard) Disher in Hudson, New York. Betty enjoyed music, art and her dogs; especially, her loving companion, Panda. She stayed in touch with her early age friends from Collinsville, OK, the "Collinsville Class of 1965," and the "Sweet Tarts." Betty owned and operated an antique store called "Recollections." Betty is survived by her daughter, Joann Thomson and husband, Greg of Noble, OK; grandson, Nick Thomson of Norman, OK; granddaughter, Victoria Thomson of Stillwater, OK; brother, John Disher and wife, Sherry of Tulsa, OK; nephew, Jeff Disher of Jenks, OK; three great-nieces, Presley Disher, Savannah Autrey, and Patty Rhoades and family; special friend, Lina Martinez of Tulsa, OK; and a lifetime of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, William G. Bates. Betty will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but her spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have her in our lives.
