Obituary

Betty Dennis, aged 78, died peacefully on August 23 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa surrounded
by her family. Betty was born on Friday, December 21, 1939 in the Russell community, 16 miles
west of Mangum, OK; the daughter of William Riley and Icy Thompson.

Betty grew up on two farms in that community, and went to Centralvue School at Russell
through 1957, where she met Virgil Glen Dennis. Betty and Glen married in June of 1957 and
moved to Edmond, OK where Glen attended college.

Betty and Glen lived many places in their married life in order to follow Glen's businesses. In
each of these places, Betty made lifelong and lasting friendships. Betty became a nurse in
1969, attending day and night courses at a Tulsa college to complete her nursing degree.
During her time as a nurse in the Tulsa area, she served patients at the St. Francis, Sapulpa
and Osteopathic hospitals. She was passionate about her career and caring for others in their
times of need.

After living in Fairfield Bay, AR; Betty and Glen moved back to Tulsa in April 2006 to retire, be
close to family and medical care. Betty's deepest desire was to get her health back on track for
she and Glen to live out their lives doing the Lord's work, and spend time with her children and
grandchildren.

Betty, a member of the Church of Christ, was a woman of God, and studied his Word intently.
She showered love on all of those around her, namely her husband Glen whom she loved and
respected deeply; and her children and grandchildren.

Betty is mother to Gary Glen Dennis, married to Paula; and Debbie Denise Young, married to
Tim. She has five grandchildren, Kyle Dennis, Katie (Dennis) Monsour, Emily Dennis, Jessica
(Young) Risenhoover and Jordan (Young) Wilson; and two great grandchildren, Lee Monsour
and Burns Risenhoover; all of whom she loved and cherished.
