Betty Errolene (Houston) Bowling was born August 16, 1935, in Tulsa, OK, to Errol Leno Houston and Sarah Elizabeth (Parkinson) Houston. She passed from this life on August 4, 2022, in Broken Arrow, OK, at the age of 86.

Betty married the love of her life, Clayton Bowling, on June 30, 1957, and together they raised a family of four children. Betty was a homemaker. She and Clayton lived in the Tulsa area, and retired to Tahlequah, OK, where they enjoyed their quiet country life. Betty professed faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and served Him alongside her husband in several Southern Baptist churches he pastored in Northeastern Oklahoma.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Helen Smith (Jeff) of Broken Arrow, OK, and Teresa Smith (Bobby) of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren, Olivia Hobbs (Caleb), Tulsa, OK, Julie Berry (Jesse), Centerton, AR, Clay Smith, Tulsa, OK, Victoria Schoeffler, Tulsa, OK, and Daniel Smith (Shelby), Owasso, OK, and her son-in-law Jerry Schoeffler, Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Andy and Zeke Berry, and her sister Sondra Miller (Paul), Tulsa, OK, and brother Errol Houston (Mary), Mannford, OK.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton, her parents, her son Jimmy Bowling, her daughter Carolyn Schoeffler, and her stepmother Zonelle Houston.

Viewing will be from 9AM - 8PM Monday, August 15, 2022 and Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church, 1703 West 41st Street, Tulsa, OK. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Stilwell City Cemetery.
