Betty Jean Ervin was born in Van Buren, Arkansas. The 5th child of hardworking farmers transplanted from Kentucky. Betty graduated from Rena High school at the age of 16 and immediately went to work. In 1948 a dashing navy man came into the offices and swept her off her feet. It was love at first sight for both. Betty and Bruce were married, August 16, 1949. They lived devoted to each other, to God and their family until Bruce's death October 2014. Betty is survived by 3 children, Debi Friggel and husband Bill, Steve Ervin, wife, Lana, Lesli Frates, husband John, 6 surviving grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Physicians Choice Hospice and Oklahoma Methodist Manor benevolent fund.
The family wants to specially thank the staff of Priddy Harbor for their loving care of mom these last 6 years. Trish, Paulette, Melissa, Sam, Eli and Rossetta proved that it's not just a job, but a calling.
A Memorial Service has been set for Monday, November 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM First Baptist Church of Tulsa at 4th and Cincinnati.
