Betty Carol Gaines, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on August 9, 1938, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Betty was the daughter of Jay Dee and Nancy A. (Allread) Phillips. Her early years were spent in Tulsa, where she grew up surrounded by her loving family, including her brothers, J.D., Bill, and Jim, and her sister, Mary. Betty's life was a testament to love and devotion. She married her lifelong partner, Jack A. Gaines, on September 20, 1956. Together, they shared 60 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories until Jack's passing. Through the years, Betty supported Jack as he served in the Marine Corps, taking on various jobs, including doing laundry, to help support their family.

Betty was the heart of her family, dedicating herself to creating a warm and loving home as a homemaker. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she was also a cheer coach who inspired many with her enthusiasm and positivity. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as playing bingo, square dancing, camping, and boating. Her family and friends fondly remember her love for the beach, road trips, and her creative endeavors in ceramics. Betty was known for her kind heart and her affinity for word search puzzles and Junior Mints, which were often brought by visitors as a token of affection. Her vibrant presence enriched the lives of everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Debra Elsheimer and her husband Ronnie, and Terri Manning and her husband David. Betty's legacy, of love continues through her grandchildren, Dustin Crow and wife Nicole, Stacey Fulps and husband Tyler, Casey Crow and wife Christian, Curtis Crow, Garrett Chapman, Austin Chapman, Heather Monterusso and husband Chris, and Brent Elsheimer and wife Shea. She was also blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends and relatives who will all miss her dearly.

A graveside service to celebrate Betty's life will be held on September 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
