Betty Jean Wisecarver came into this world on November 5th, 1933, in Decatur, Arkansas. She sadly passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023, shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday. Betty was the second-born child, with four brothers, Jack Jr., Donald, Roy and Jessie. To parents, Jack Earl and Helen May Wisecarver from Decatur, Arkansas. She enjoyed growing up in a rural town but also spent part of her childhood in Tucson, Arizona. In high school, Betty played basketball and was crowned Homecoming Queen, her future husband was Homecoming King. Shortly after high school graduation, Betty married her high school sweetheart Carl Ray Reed in 1951 and they were happily married for sixty years. The two moved to Wichita, KS to start their new life together. They welcomed three children, Dennis was their firstborn, then Janet and Phillip was their last child. Betty, an accomplished homemaker, furthered her education by taking night courses to become an accountant.
In 1969, the Reed Family left Wichita and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where they settled for the remainder of their lives. Betty loved giving back to her community and she loved to sing, especially with her friends. Betty sang and played the piano while participating in Baptist Church studies where she would meet like-minded people who shared her giving spirit. Betty contributed volunteer hours for Tulsa's St. Francis Hospital and unselfishly spent hours packing food for Meals on Wheels. Anyone who knew Betty would know she was a gifted homemaker who mastered her skills to sew......literally anything!
