Obituary

Betty Joan Schemm 91, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, in Broken Arrow. She was born on October 14, 1934, in Nickerson, Kansas to Ernest H. "Jack" Barker and Ruth Louise (Pike) Barker.

Betty was united in marriage to the love of her life, Frank Schemm. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, friendship, and adventure. As a devoted homemaker, Betty created a warm and welcoming home where family and friends were always cherished.

She had numerous hobbies and interests throughout her life, most notably her love of playing bridge. Betty achieved the distinguished rank of Life Master, a testament to her dedication and skill in the game she so greatly enjoyed. She also shared a passion for travel with Frank. Together, they explored 56 countries, creating treasured memories across the globe.

Summers were especially dear to Betty's heart, spent at the family's lake home on Table Rock Lake. She and Frank delighted in sitting side by side on the porch, taking in the beauty and peacefulness of the water ,simple moments that meant the most.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Frank Schemm; her daughters, Rhonda Blazer and Alana Fisher..

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest H. "Jack" Barker and Ruth Louise (Pike) Barker; her son, Ben Schemm; her sisters, Barbara Berger and Beverly McGill; and her brothers, Buddy Barker and Billy Barker.

Betty will be remembered for her grace, warmth, adventurous spirit, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
