Betty Louise Thompson, 82, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Tulsa. She was born August 3, 1934 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of Marion and Elsie Miller. She graduated from Central High School in Sallisaw. Betty married Hershel Thompson on June 20, 1976 in Tulsa and recently celebrated 41 years of marriage. She worked at KTUL TV Channel 8 in Tulsa as the Receptionist for 47 years. Betty won numerous awards for her dedication and service and she was lovingly referred to as "Betty Mom" to everyone who knew her or worked with her. Every person she met received the same welcome with a touch of Southern Charm and was greeted with "Darlin", "Baby Doll", "Sugar" or "Sweetheart."
Survivors include her husband, Hershel Thompson, of the home; 1 daughter, Angelia Folks of Owasso, OK; 1 son, Vaughn Folks and wife Darlene of Charlotte, NC; 1 stepdaughter, Shelley Forbes and husband Carl, of Coweta, OK; 1 stepson, Hershel Dean Thompson of Knob Noster, MO; granddaughters, Casey Folks of Charlotte, NC and Sheree Sharpton of Tulsa, OK; 2 sisters, Carol Brown and husband Jerry of Edmond, OK and Charlotte Cope and Husband Cliff of Yakima, WA: several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Elsie Miller of Sallisaw, OK; 2 brothers, Glyndon Miller and CB Miller of Sallisaw, OK; 2 sisters, Ruby June Holt of Edmond, OK and Sybil Parsons of Sallisaw, OK.
