Betty L. Oglesby, 94, of Tulsa, OK passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born September 8,1926 in Tulsa, OK to Otis and Vivian Poynor.

As a child, Betty's parents moved around Tulsa several times. Betty attended many churches during her young life. After marrying Bruce, they settled down in West Tulsa. Betty's church membership landed at Carbondale Baptist Church where she raised her children. She had many different volunteer jobs from teaching Sunday School, VBS, CA leader, and piano player. Betty moved her membership to FBC Tulsa about 15 years ago. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class there until she moved to University Village.

Betty started her career as a Fashion Illustrator before she graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1944. She worked for Renberg's (25+ years) and Dillard's (8 Years). Betty retired from Renberg's in 1990. After she retired, she volunteered as a Gillie at Gilcrease Museum. Betty enjoyed learning about the museum and their exhibits, developing new friendships and taking many wonderful trips.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Oglesby of 47 years, her parents, Otis and Vivian Poynor, and her brother, Gene Poynor. Betty is survived by her daughters, Sally Taggart (Glenn), Lea Ann Weaver (Ray), and son, Rick Oglesby (Nancy), all of Tulsa. Three grandchildren, Ben Weaver (Erin), Lauren Roberts (BJ), and Erin Oglesby. Five great-grandchildren, Tag Roberts, Elle Roberts, Luke Weaver, Guy Weaver, and Jack Weaver.

The visitation will be 4-7 PM, Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK 74145. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to your favorite charity. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
