Betty Jean Short, 84, of Nowata, OK, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016. She was born October 29, 1931 in Chickasha, OK to Charlie and Hazel Hill. She played basketball at Wynnewood High School. She enjoyed her children, embroidering, baking and cooking. She always put others before herself. Betty Jean is survived by her sons Albert Short and his wife Patty of Chelsea, OK; Dennis Short of Tulsa, OK and Randall Short and his wife Cheryl of Nowata, OK; 11 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Hazel Shires, her husband Billy Short, daughter Renee' Bailey, sister Barbara Turner and her brother Richard Shires.
