Betty and Jack were married April 25th, 1943, in Drumright, OK. Jack later became a very successful builder/ general contractor in Tulsa and surrounding areas. As the saying goes, "behind every great man is a great woman", and that was certainly true in Betty's case. Betty devoted most of her life to being the matriarch to the Thomas Family. She was the most loving and caring wife and mother, always putting the rest of the family's needs before her own. She was a devout Christian and attended East Side Christian Church for about 65 years along with her husband Jack, and their three children. Betty was indeed the glue that kept her family firmly intact.
While raising their children, Betty also found time to do volunteer work in hospitals and nursing homes. She was also one of Debra's Girl Scout Leaders. While doing all these things, Betty still managed to maintain an immaculate home, and was an excellent cook.
It must be mentioned that Betty had a few hobbies that she enjoyed. Her favorite hobby was shopping. Betty also loved to play any kind of cards, and was a member of a few different card playing groups. She also liked playing dominoes from time to time.
Betty had another talent that may have been her most important one, and one that most of her family remember her by. She never failed to slip a perfectly appropriate birthday card or anniversary card in the mail to her children and grandchildren.
Jack retired in 1986. By this time, with their three children raised, it was time for Betty and Jack to enjoy the fruits of their labor to the fullest extent. Betty and Jack took many trips throughout the world, and loved taking numerous cruises to many of those destinations.
