Betty Jean Williams passed away at her home, Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 91 years old. Betty was born in Oklahoma City, Sunday, October 18, 1931, to Dan and Mildred Moore of Lawton, OK.
She is survived by: her husband of 66 years, George Williams; her son Randy Williams and wife Rita; daughter, Kathryn Shackelford; brother, Roger Moore; grandkids, Michael, Gary, Mitchell, Nichole and Shawn Williams; and 10 great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by: her son, Michael; brother, Jimmy and Danny Moore; sister, Christine Bone; and granddaughter, Stephanie Crespin.
Betty grew up in Lawton, OK, and graduated from Lawton High School in 1949, where she was a member of FHA and Spanish Club. During high school, she worked for Kress Dept. Store. After high school, Betty left Lawton to at a manufacturing company in Oklahoma City. She then left for Tulsa to work at another manufacturing company and then for American Airlines. In Tulsa, Betty met George and they married on her birthday in 1956. Betty spent over 30 years working for Public Service Company. She volunteered for the Red Cross, St. Francis Hospital and the veterans hospital in Muskogee.
Her early interests: bowling leagues at the Rose Bowl; bunco gang; crocheting; and 30 years of genealogy research.
