Today, we lovingly remember and celebrate the life of Betty Zoe Wing who peacefully passed away on September 12, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Betty was born on May 12, 1925, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Francis Claire Cornell and Florence Marina McCoy.
Her father was District Superintendent of the Oklahoma Assembly of God. He pastored in Tulsa and other towns in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Betty became her father's pianist at an early age. She became an accomplished pianist and organist teacher through her entire life.
Betty married Jack A. Sharp, Jr. in 1944. This union produced two children Larry Alan Sharp and Jacque Lynn Sharp. Betty married Norris Acy Wing on June 10, 1971. Norris had three daughters, and they became a combined family.
Betty was born with a cleft palate that affected her speech which was an embarrassment her entire life. At age 59 years old, she was fitted for a prosthetic device to cover the cleft palate. Three years later she won Ms. Senior Bella Vista, and then Ms. Senior Arkansas. She traveled to Atlantic City to compete in the Ms. Senior America Pageant and won first runner-up.
Betty and Norris returned to Tulsa in 1991. Norris died on March 22, 2010 and Betty died September 12, 2025 at her home at University Village.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Florence Cornell; her stepdaughter, Tamara Wing Henry and her husband Gary Henry; step-son-in-law, Paul Martin; and step-grandson Benjamine O'Toole.
Betty is survived by her sisters Cathy Cornell and Pam Cornell Campbell (Steve); her son Larry Alan Sharp, daughter Jacque Lynn Semple, two step-daughters Linda Wing Martin and Donna Wing Keele (Mick), grandchildren Kyle Cornell Swarthout, Kelly Bennett, Anthony Martin (Kim), Scott Martin (Provin), Robert O'Toole (Melanie), Michael O'Toole (Colleen); 16 great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. For those who are unable to attend, the service will be webcasted and can be accessed through
