Betty Harts Allen Whitaker was born on September 19, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to H. William "Bill" Harts and Jessie G. Harts who both preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband H. Eddie Whitaker, her brother William "Bill" Harts and wife Cinda of Cedar Rapids, IA and children Kathy Phipps & husband Robbie, Barbara Hoffman & husband Joe, Mark Allen & wife Pam, Jeff Allen & wife Joy, Debbie Savage & husband Mark, DeWayne Whitaker and foster son, David Bagby & wife Michelle of Omaha, NE. Grandchildren are Kendra Allen & husband Aaron, Joe Hoffman, Jr., & wife Joey, Stefanie Pitt, Garrod Allen, Tyler Allen, Kaitlin Allen, Dalton Allen, Lauren Allen, Jessica Oleo, Tommy Whitaker, William Whitaker, and Matthew Whitaker and Emeril Bagby as well as 13 great grandchildren.
Betty was an avid bowler and served on the Board of the Tulsa Chapter of the Woman's Bowling Association in addition to being involved in the Republican Committee and helped serve on several campaign committees including being one of Page Belcher's "pages". She was on the planning committee of the Tulsa Economic Task Force. In her much younger years she volunteered and performed in the Red Glove Review, and countless other associations. She participated in the garden club, bridge club, was Camp Fire Girl leader, and was the scorekeeper for her son's baseball teams.
She and Ed, in addition to traveling, bowling and spending time with family also took in a foster son, David Bagby, and after he graduated they hosted several foreign exchange students. She loved all living things; people, animals and plants. She was selfless and always made everyone feel at home and welcome.
