Bettye "Betsy" Jayne Adkison Parker, age 76, passed away in the evening of November 24, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following diminished health and a short stay in the hospital.
Betsy was born December 12, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Dr. Robert G. and Jane Louise Adkison. She attended Tulsa Central High School, where she met the love of her life, the late Bill L. Parker. After her graduation, Betsy attended Oklahoma State University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. In 1959, Bill and Betsy wed in Oklahoma and shortly after moved to Kansas City and had their first two sons, with their third son being born in Elgin, IL. Soon after their family of five was complete, they moved to Orange County, California, where they called home. After becoming empty-nesters, Bill and Betsy moved back to Oklahoma to Grand Lake in 1996. In recent years, Betsy moved to Tulsa to be closer to family.
Betsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to each of those that were fortunate enough to know her, some would say she never met a stranger.
Betsy is survived by: three sons, Bradley, William "Billy," Brentley, and their wives and significant others Brooke Parker, Deanna Parker, and Tabitha Admire; sister, Patricia Copass; brother, Robert G. Adkison, Jr. and sister-in-law Josette Adkison; her seven grandchildren: Chris, Kelly, Courtney, Colton, Shelby, Austin, and Braden; and great grandchildren, Jacob, Jevon, Christopher, Olivia, and Emma; her nephews Nick A. and Nick C.; nieces Lisa, Breana and Ashely.
Services will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 9350 E. 51st Street, Southlawn Chapel, on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10am with burial immediately following at Memorial Park Cemetery. A viewing and visitation will be on Friday, December 1, 2017 between 11 and 6pm at Moore Funeral Home.
