Obituary

After living a full life, Beverly Ruth Bohannon's glow joined her patient soulmate and eldest daughter in eternal peace in the middle of the calm and quiet night Sunday, December 19, 2021. Her light first shone eighty-two years ago in Bluejacket, Oklahoma on a crisp morning October 8th, 1939, to parents Alva Alvin Brown and Ione Valentine Dixon. She enjoyed her childhood with a sister and a brother. At the age of sixteen, Beverly married her childhood sweetheart, Benjamin Franklin Bohannon, age twenty, on March 3, 1956. In their 56 years of marriage, they welcomed and loved two daughters, Debra Ruth and Brenda Sue. Beverly included her sons-in-law, Kent Buswell, Dwayne Love, and Todd Clemens into her family. Beverly and Benjamin provided the roots to the family tree from their children to grandchildren (Michael, Zackary and partner Amber, and Matthew Love; Joshua and Benjamin and spouse Chantel Buswell; Suzette and spouse Christopher Wooden) and great-grandchildren (Xavier and Bryson Love; Samuel Buswell; Dominque Gonzales, Ethan Mendez-Gonzales, and Alona Buswell-Gonzales; Sterling and Trenton Wooden). The example and legacy Beverly and Benjamin Bohannon lived and left to be continued is one of love, kindness, forgiveness, hard-work, and self-less service. They were a foundation to many people beyond the family that will be greatly missed and difficult to duplicate.
She was many things in addition to being the loving and supportive wife and mother. Beverly worked at BAMA Pie as a technician for twenty years. She was a well-known and respected registered master ceramics artist. Beverly modestly accepted her exceptional skill by patiently supporting her children and grandchildren to explore their own individual artistic interests. If anyone needed a listening ear or assistance of any kind, they knew that Beverly was the pure soul that would soothe their discomfort. There is never enough time to fully appreciate the generous contributions that Beverly brought being herself.
