William John "Bill" Raczkowski passed away January 3, 2021, in Tulsa, OK. He was born to Peter and Rozalia Raczkowski, August 29, 1933, in North Little Rock, AR. He was married October 31, 1959 to Joan "Jody" Jansen at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tulsa, OK where he remained a member with his wife until his passing. Bill came out of the Polish community of North Little Rock and Marche in AR. After high school, Bill's athletic success took him to St. Benedict's College in Atchison, KS, on a football scholarship, graduating in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and attended the University of AR and University of Tulsa law schools. He worked for Ideal Brick Co as a salesman in the Tulsa area for 25 years, and owned Bank Mini Storage for 40 years. He also managed rental properties and ran a downtown gas station (Elgin and Archer) and an auto repair garage. He was always a sports enthusiast and coached northside Tulsa youth to championships in flag-football and baseball. In his later years he was an avid horse racing fan, often frequenting OK tracks. Beneath his outward toughness was a big and generous heart concerned with the underdogs of this world. He is survived by his wife, Joan Elizabeth; his children, Russell and wife, Liz, Minneapolis, MN, Carl and wife, Holly, Edmond, OK, Paul, St. Joseph, MO, Mary Gerber and husband, Brian, Valdosta, GA, Joe and wife Michell, Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Nathan, Luke, Trevor, Thomas, Jacob, Anna, Matthew, Catherine, Will, Ava, and Dean; one niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John; granddaughter, Madelene; brother, Sylvester; and his sister, Dorothy Smith.
The family would like to thank the employees of Brookdale Midtown Tulsa for their care for him in his last days.
