Bill J. Rogers, 87, passed away Thursday, December 10th, 2015. Bill was born in Warner Oklahoma, to A.J. and Aline (Neal) Rogers, April 18, 1928.
After high school, like so many young men of his day, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his service to his country he worked for the Tulsa World as an apprentice in 1948. He became a line type machinist while building his piano company on the side. He started his piano company in his one car garage. It grew and prospered into Rogers Piano Company. His ambition was to become his own boss. His father and mother helped him build his business. His father worked by his side until he was 89.
Bill married Vonda Lloyd in 1974. Bill is survived by his wife, Vonda Rogers, his son: Trent Rogers, daughter: Debbie Barbee, her husband: Tom, son: Kim Lloyd, his wife: Linda, daughters: Kami Oakley, Kerri Lyle, her husband Chuck, and Kathi McLean, her husband Charles. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and counting.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jimbo Rogers, and sister, Betty Lou Meyerhoff.
The family will greet friends from 6 pm to 8 pm, Monday December 14th, 2015 at Moore's Family Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street. Service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, Moore's Southlawn Chapel 918-663-2233.
