Billie Elizabeth Reeder went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2021 at 89 years of age. Billie was born to Lora Evelyn Grove and Elmer Lohman in Hominy, Oklahoma on September 4, 1931. She lived with her maternal grandparents, George and Bertha Morgan, on a farm in Osage County, Oklahoma until she was five years old. At that time, she came to Tulsa to live with her mother and stepfather, Otto Trickel.
Billie attended Longfellow Elementary School, Horace Mann Jr. High and graduated from Tulsa Central High in 1949. She received her BA from The University of Central Oklahoma at Edmond, Oklahoma, and her MA from Northeastern University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Billie met her future husband, Jimmy, on her first day of college, which happened to be her eighteenth birthday. They were married February 21, 1952 in San Diego, California where Jimmy was stationed in the Navy. They had two sons, David Bonde and James Alan.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents; her brothers John and George Trickel; her beloved Jimmy; their dear son, David; and precious granddaughter, Amber.
She is survived by a wonderful son, Alan, and his wife, Denise; a granddaughter, Pamela Elizabeth Reeder; three great-grandchildren, Levi Cook, Jackson Fine, and Lauren Elizabeth Keeling. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Trickel; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Billie volunteered at Gilcrease Museum and The Assistance League of Tulsa. She was happiest traveling with Jimmy, doing projects with her grandchildren, working in her flowers, being with her extended family and attending First Baptist Church where she was led to the Lord by her Jr. High math teacher who was also her Sunday School teacher.
Billie was very content spending her last years at University Village.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Clarehouse Hospice.
