Billie Dean (Musgrove) Salcher, 90, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on March 16, 2026 surrounded by family.
Billie was born on October 11, 1935, to William Major Musgrove and Hazel Dean Jordan Musgrove in San Antonio, Texas. She attended Crockett and Pasadena High Schools, graduating in 1953. After graduation, she went on to work as a Bookkeeper and Cost Accountant in Houston, Texas and San Antonio, Texas.
Billie met her husband Gerald "Jerry" while both were on the company bowling team at Fredrick Refrigeration Company in San Antonio. They married in 1964 and had a loving marriage until Jerry's death in March 2023.
Billie and Jerry lived in Texas and Ohio before moving to Lake Hudson, outside of Pryor, Oklahoma, with their three children Major Wayne Salcher, Melanie Ann Salcher Burdick and Gerald "Jerry" Eddie Salcher, Jr. The family enjoyed boating and water skiing on the lake and ski trips to New Mexico and Colorado.
As a homemaker in Pryor, Billie volunteered for her children's activities and served as a Brownie, Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She also worked with Meals on Wheels and as a hospital volunteer. Billie enjoyed swimming, playing in multiple bridge groups, reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. After Jerry retired, Billie and Jerry moved to Broken Arrow to be closer to their grandchildren, and then to Inverness Village in West Tulsa. Throughout her life, Billie traveled extensively with Jerry and family throughout the United States, including to Hawaii and Alaska, as well as to Austria, England, Scotland, Ireland, Mexico and Canada.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband Jerry and both her parents.
Billie is survived by three children and their spouses, Major and Ginger Salcher, Melanie and Kevin Burdick and Jerry Jr. and Jennifer Salcher; three grandchildren, Kelsi Paysse and husband Jonathan, Jordan Moorman and husband Keaton, and McKenzie Salcher; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Noah and Landon.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 28th at 1pm at Moore Funeral Home -Southlawn Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cure Alzheimer's Fund.
