Reverend Dr. Billy Green
Billy Lawrence Green was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on December 15, 1934 and was the only son of the 6 children born to Lawrence and Gertrude Green.
Billy was saved at the age of 14 at Easton Heights Baptist Church in Tulsa on Christmas night 1949. He surrendered to preach the gospel of Christ in November of 1953. He graduated from Central High School in 1953. He attended OBU and received his BS from the University of Tulsa in 1967 with a major in Psychology. Billy received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from The Southern Baptist School for Biblical Studies in July of 1998.
Billy served as Pastor of several churches beginning in 1958, the longest of which was Harvard Ave. Baptist Church Tulsa for over 23 years. He began his mission organization, The Billy Green Evangelistic Partnership. Through this ministry and so many people involved in supporting it, so many Pastors and their families predominantly in India were taken care of financially to start churches and spread the word of God. Billy was a missionary at large visiting many parts of the world. They started the Dr Billy Green Children's home in Andrea Pradesh India.
Billy is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 63 years Dorothy Ann Green, his three children, Charlotte and husband David Davis, Mark and wife Norma Green and Stephen Green, his sister Mary Milam, five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
What a legacy this man has left on his family, but every life he has touched.
