Billy Lee Harer was born on October 29, 1935 in Coffeyville, Kansas in the home of his parents Eva Lorene and Christian Gottlieb Harer. He passed from this life on July 19, 2021 at age 85 in his Tulsa home. He married Charlotte Rutledge August 12, 1960 in Coffeyville, served in the Army National Guard, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and active in the Republican party. Bill established HARCO, Inc. which built, expanded and repaired water treatment plants. He was a passionate reader, knew something about just about everything, loved to fly airplanes, build things with his grandsons, had an extensive gun collection and loved animals, especially his two dogs.
Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte, and two daughters of Tulsa, Christine Steichen and husband Barry, children Christian, Madalene, James and John Mark and daughter Annette Harer and wife Kelley Stafford, children Ashleigh, Madison and Garrett.
Family suggests donations be made to A New Leaf or the Alzheimer's Association.
Services will be held at Moore Southlawn Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday, July 22 from 6-8 p.m. and celebration of life Friday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. The family will be eternally grateful for all the wonderful care he received from Saint Francis Health System.
