Obituary

Bobby Harold Eidschun of Tulsa, Oklahoma
May 18, 1934 - January 23, 2026
On January 23, 2026, Bob Harold Eidschun went to be with the Lord.
Bob was born in Shady Point, Oklahoma on May 18, 1934, to Edna Lee and Leo Albert Eidschun. He was the eighth of eight children. His family moved to Bokoshe, Oklahoma where he grew up and enjoyed playing baseball. He graduated from Bokoshe High School in 1952 as one of 18 students. After high school, Bob entered college at Northeastern State University and graduated in 1956 with an Industrial Arts degree. After college, Bob enlisted in the Army and after 2 years of service, he was honorably discharged as a Private First Class. He continued serving in the Army Reserves until 1961. On July 20, 1956, Bob married the love of his life, Barbara Joyce Miller, and they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Bob worked and retired from the Metric Corporation in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a skilled welder and had a strong work ethic. Bob and Barbara had their first child in 1959, Sandra, a son in 1961, Bobby and a son in 1969, Greg. They were members of Glen Station Church of God that is now known as New Life Christian Center and have attended for over 65 years.
Bob was an avid gardener of fruits, vegetables and flowers. He shared the vegetables from his garden with his family, friends and neighbors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family. He went camping with his family during their Thanksgiving weekend annual hunting trip and was the cook where he was known for early morning pancakes. He was particular with his yard and would supervise the mowing during the years he could no longer take care of the yard himself. He was known for saying "you missed a spot". He enjoyed his Tuesday night family dinners. He loved a good bacon and tomato sandwich. He especially loved Christmas and enjoyed wrapping gifts each year for family. He took over the cooking of the ham and potatoes for the family Christmas dinner.
Bob enjoyed music and listened to Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, David Allen Coe, Jerry Reed and Bobby Bare. He met Bobby Bare when they served in the Army together and they became friends and went to the Grand Ole Opry together. When he was working, he would spend his lunch time in the Cains Ballroom listening to Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys while he enjoyed drinking a beer.
Bob enjoyed sports and especially loved Oklahoma Sooners Football, OKC Thunder, Drillers, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Bob was a true Oklahoma Sooners Football fan believing they could beat any team in the country regardless of their record for that season. He had a memory like a steel trap ... recalling every army based he served on and where each one was located. He could also quote many historical events and sports stats.
Bob became a grandfather in 1981 and has a total of 9 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Barbara and 6 of his siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Gunnells and her children, Wesley Gunnells, Kasondra Gunnells and Rebecca Patterson, his son Bobby Ray Eidschun and his wife Jeannie and their children, Bobby Michael and his wife Jamie and sons Nolan and Easton, Kendall Eidschun and his fiancee Jayden Phillips, Christy Eidschun and her fiance Blake Dampf, and Emily Eidschun and her fiance Jake Culver, and his son Greg Eidschun and his wife Karen and their children Brittany Eidschun and Zack Eidschun. He is also survived by his sister Wanda Boback and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Sandra, Bobby, Greg and family would like to extend their sincere thank you and deep appreciation to Pastor Homady, members of New Life Christian Center, and the staff at Clarehouse Hospice House for the excellent care and support each one gave to Bob and the family.
In lieu of flowers, gifts on Bob's behalf may be donated to New Life Christian Center, 5328 Charles Page Blvd, Tulsa, OK 74127 or Clarehouse Hospice House in Tulsa.
