Bonnie Nadine Merceri, 83, died peacefully Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at her Fullerton home with her daughter and grandchildren by her side.
Bonnie was born May 5, 1935 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Sammie and Flora Howard. Bonnie spent many of her childhood years in Redlands, California before returning to Oklahoma. In 1953, she graduated from Sperry High School. Bonnie worked as a key-punch operator for Williams Brothers in her early years, worked for many years as a professional photography retoucher, and ended her career working in the treasurer's office for Tulsa Public Schools, from where she retired.
Bonnie was an avid reader, passing her love of reading on to her children and grandchildren, a lover of animals, and an active member at Sequoya Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa for many years.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Gina Jones and James Rizzo, both of California; five grandchildren, Melissa, Morgan, Joshua, Caleb, and Miajames; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Joseph, Riley, and Apolline; brother Leonard Howard of Oklahoma, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce Sattar, and husband Edward Merceri.
Viewing will be held Saturday April 20th from 10am to 8pm at Moore Funeral Home, 9350 E 51st St. Tulsa. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 22nd at 2pm at the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Dr. Tulsa
