Boyd Martin Conwell, 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 8, 2019, in Tulsa, OK. Boyd was born on Friday, January 14, 1938, in Tulsa, OK, to Walter George Conwell and Vera Bell (Ramey) Conwell. Boyd graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1956. He then joined the United States Navy in 1957, where he was proud to have served as an Aviation Electrician Mate, receiving a Good Conduct Medal, before his discharge in 1963. Boyd married Patricha Young in 1962, and they divorced in 1977. He then married Merlene Elaine (Sharrock) Conwell, and they have been happily married for 41 years, upon his passing. Boyd was a machinist at American Airlines for 27 years, when he retired in 2000. He had an adventurous spirit and liked to ride his motorcycle. He also enjoyed sports, and especially, was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Boyd is survived by his wife; son, Kevin Conwell and wife, Nancy of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Stephanie Clark and husband, Jeffrey of Andover, KS; stepdaughter, Lynn Pearson and husband, Greg of Tulsa, OK; and half-brother, Johnny Johnson of California; 8 grandchildren, Charles, Chris and Caleb Conwell, Sabra Sewell, Sarah Duckett, Jacob Clark, Jeffery Braden, and Savannah Pearson; 5 great-grandchildren, Cale Conwell, Elora Sewell, Cameron and McKenna McCarter, and Lincoln Braden; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepson, Cary Miner. Boyd will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
