Obituary

Bret Wayne Bringham, 53, passed away in Jenks surrounded by his family July 2, 2025. He was born July 17, 1971, in Cordell, Oklahoma to Danny and Kathy Jane (Elledge) Bringham.

Bret grew up in Blackwell, Oklahoma, where he developed a deep connection to the land and his family. His childhood was filled with adventures on the family farm, hunting, fishing, and riding three-wheelers, creating memories that would shape his character and passions.

Bret's journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to health and wellness. After graduating from Blackwell High School in 1989, he pursued higher education at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, OK, and later at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Health in 1993.

His career began at St. John Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he worked in the Health Club for 13 years, touching countless lives with his dedication and expertise. In 2006, Bret joined Melton Truck Lines, where he created and managed their Wellness Program. His passion for health and wellness was evident in everything he did, and he inspired his clients and coworkers to strive for their best selves. His famous mantra, "Last Round! Make it Suck!" will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of working with him.

Bret's greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted father to his sons, Colby and Chase Bringham, and his bonus children, Sam and Emerie Bates. He encouraged and supported them in their favorite activities, from weightlifting and soccer to theater and volleyball. In 2011, Bret met the love of his life, Dece (Bates) Bringham, and they married a year later. Together, they cherished moments around the fire pit with friends and family and enjoyed date nights filled with comedy shows and concerts.

Bret's love for animals was another testament to his compassionate nature. He rescued pets from the Tulsa SPCA, providing them with a loving home and endless affection.

Bret is survived by his wife, Dece (Bates) Bringham; his children, Colby Bringham of Tulsa, Chase Bringham, Sam Bates, and Emerie Bates of Jenks; his parents, Dan and Kathy Bringham; and his brother, Bron Bringham of Ponca City. His legacy of love, dedication, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

On July 17th, Bret's birthday, we will gather for a casual drop-in celebration of life memorial service at the family's home in Jenks from 2pm to 5pm. Bret requested for those stopping by to please wear casual attire, no suits, ties, jackets, or dresses. As we remember Bret, let us honor his memory by embracing the values he held dear and striving to be the best versions of ourselves.
