Brian Scot Griffith, known to family and friends as Scot, was born on December 23, 1954, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Ivan and Shirley Griffith. The oldest of three children, he grew up in Tulsa's Lortondale neighborhood, making many happy memories with his younger brother, Neil, and sister, Carol.

Sports were an important part of Scot's life from an early age. He played local minor-league hockey through high school and was a talented competitive baseball pitcher in the Tulsa area, known for his strong fastball. He also loved spending time on the water at Grand Lake.

Scot was the kind of big brother Neil and Carol could count on. He often drove them and their friends wherever they needed to go, sometimes in his unforgettable AMC Gremlin. After high school, with encouragement from his father, a respected architect, Scot began a career in construction and became a journeyman carpenter.

In 1981, Scot became the proud father of twin daughters, Kelli and Kerri. Being their dad-and later a grandfather-was one of the most meaningful parts of his life.

Over a 29-year career in construction, Scot worked his way from journeyman carpenter to project superintendent and construction administrator. He took great pride in bringing people and details together to turn plans into finished buildings. His work can be seen across Oklahoma in schools, athletic facilities, hospitals, banks, parks, churches, businesses, and public buildings, including projects for Jenks Public Schools, Oklahoma State University, the University of Tulsa, the Oklahoma Aquarium, Tinker Air Force Base, and the Tulsa City-County Library. He spoke fondly of these projects throughout his life and was proud that his craftsmanship had become part of the communities he served.

Some of Scot's most meaningful projects were the ones he completed alongside his father at the family's Grand Lake cabin. They shared a deep appreciation for construction and spent many hours on the deck comparing notes, talking about their work, and enjoying each other's company. Those conversations became treasured memories and reflected the close bond they shared.

More than 20 years ago, Scot made his home in Coweta, where he enjoyed the peace and space of his small acreage. He and Debbie cared for goats and opened their home to many stray dogs and cats over the years. He was a devoted OSU Cowboys fan who loved cheering on his team. At the time of his passing, Scot had hired contractors and was overseeing renovations to his Coweta home-another project he was excited to see come together.

Scot is survived by his daughters, Kelli (Chris) Keedy and Kerri (Brock) Zimmerman; his grandchildren, Colton and Lauren Schlesselman, Payton, Paige, Easton and Aubrey Keedy, Taylor, Lydia, and Grayson Koller and Cole, Coby, and Korbin Zimmerman; his brother, Neil; and his sister, Carol. His family will remember him as a proud father and grandfather, a dependable brother, a lifelong sports fan, a skilled builder, and someone whose work and care left a lasting mark on the people and places around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Shirley Griffith, and his wife, Debbie Griffith.

A Celebration of Life Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74145.
