Obituary

Brooks Allan Tyson "Brooksie", 17, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, crossed into eternal life on March 21, 2019. He was born on June 24, 2001, in Fort Collins, Colorado, the son of Amy (Blevins) Tyson and Brent Tyson. Brooks attended schools in Stillwater, before moving to Tulsa and attending Metro Christian Academy as well as Thomas A. Edison Preparatory School. At Edison, Brooks was a Junior and a proud member of the golf and football teams.
Although Brooks was young in years, he lived a full, joyous life and embraced every moment. Brooks always found the good in everyone and was quick to include, welcome, and love on them all. He had a bigger than life personality, a never-ending smile, a contagious laugh, and a generous and loving heart, leaving a huge, immediate impression on countless people's lives.
Brooks was a natural leader and respected by everyone. He enjoyed being part of a team and was even prouder to cheer on his favorite teams! His relentless spirit and zest for life earned him many loyal friends.
Growing up, Brooks and his family attended Life.Church in Stillwater before moving to Tulsa and attending the Church.at Midtown. Attending church had a profound impact on Brooks' life. He was a deep thinker and a philosopher, challenging his beliefs and digging into the scriptures with an inspiring tenacity. He was "tried and true" and was not afraid to ask the hard questions. This only deepened his faith.
Brooks is survived by his parents, Amy, of Tulsa, and Brent, of Stillwater, along with his brother, Connor, and his beloved dog, Daisy. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Gene and Dinell Blevins of Tulsa as well as his paternal grandparents, Ron and Elaine Tyson of Parker, Colorado, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins: Allison (Blevins) Elliott and Clint Elliott and their children, Taylor Blevins and Emma Elliott, all of Tulsa; Ron and Kandy Tyson & Nyssa and Brad Xanders and their children Haden Tyson, Bryce Tyson, Aubry Tyson and Zac Tyson of Edmond and Stillwater.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the numerous healthcare providers at St. John's Hospital, Shepherd Center in Atlanta and Clarehouse for their tremendous kindness, dedication and tireless efforts.
A Celebration of Life for Brooks will be held on Tuesday, March 26th, at 11:00 AM, at First United Methodist Church (1115 S. Boulder Ave) in downtown Tulsa.
