Bryan Alan Self, 54, of Tulsa, died Saturday, November 18, 2023. He was born September 26, 1969 in Yorba Linda, CA to Roy and Wanda Faye (Robinson) Self. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wanda and Roy, who passed in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
Bryan is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and five children, Ava and Tate, of the home, Haley, of Rogers, AR, Ethan, of Little Rock, AR, Brady, of Rochester, NY; two sisters, Anita Wilson and husband, Marshall of Springdale, AR, and their children, Derek and Danielle; Sheila Eastep and husband, Kevin, of Springdale, AR, and their daughters, Caroline, Emma, Claire, and Ella Jane. He also leaves behind several great nieces and great nephews.
Bryan grew up in northwest Arkansas, graduating from Rogers High School and later the University of Arkansas. He started a long career in banking at what is now known as Arvest Bank at age 16 and worked in various areas from bank operations to internal audit, to IT, where he rose to an executive level reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer. He left Arvest in 2021 and joined Gateway First Bank as Chief Information Officer, where he oversaw all systems and technology and served on the Executive Leadership Team. He had a wide range of interests--he loved the outdoors, from kayaking, to camping, to running, and just enjoying God's beautiful wonders. He ran his first marathon this past year and was talking about possibly running the original marathon route in Greece in the future. Bryan was a big Razorback sports fan, but he also had an interest in a wide variety of sports. Golf was a lifelong hobby that he was playing regularly. He could talk to you about anything, from pop culture to politics to the latest technology gadgets.
Bryan lived a full life, one led by his love of family and complimented by an abundance of friends, hobbies, and interests.
Memorial Service will be 10AM, Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
