BT McFadden of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away at the age of 96 on the morning of October 21, 2018. He died peacefully in hospice care with his only son beside him.
He was born during the Great Depression on an Arkansas farm to a large family. There he learned family values that would become guiding principles in his life. At age 14 he left his family to work in the Civilian Conservation Corps, sending home his wages. When World War II broke out, with his father's permission, at age 17, BT joined the United States Marine Corps. He was a tank commander, fighting in heavy combat in the South Pacific for 4 years.
He returned home, fell in love, and married Martha Pearl Grady. Together they had one son, Grady Terrance McFadden. BT & Martha were married for over 50 years before she passed away. He was a devoted family man who welcomed everyone into his home. Professionally, BT was a career jet engine mechanic at McDonnell-Douglas. He retired having worked there his entire career. BT had a good sense of humor and was known best for his memory and storytelling. He was beloved by all generations of his family.
