Bulah Mae Cook was born Bulah Mae Smith on January 15th, 1939 in El Campo, Texas and died in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 20th, 2020.
Bulah was raised by her mother, Zelder Coffelt and her stepfather, Noah Coffelt in Houston, Texas.
Bee met Carl Lewis Cook (the love of her life) at Central Park Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. They attended the same church, dated and were married at Central Park Methodist on June 4th, 1954.
In 1955 their first son, Daniel Carl Cook, was born. A few years later another son, Timothy Kevin Cook, joined the family. Bee loved being a "boy mom" and supported both boys in their schooling, scouting and sporting activities.
Carl and Bee relocated from Houston to Tulsa with the Standard Oil Company in 1963. They became members of Will Rogers United Methodist Church. Bee loved church and she built their social lives around all of their friends. She and Carl have been members of the Faithbuilders class for many years and have developed lifelong friendships with all of the members. There have been many card games, dominos (chicken foot!), trips to Branson and many other fun activities that brought joy to Bee over the years. She had truly missed all of those activities in the last few years.
Bee stayed home with her boys in their early years but later went to work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Bee had a twenty-five year career as an executive administrative assistant. She loved her work and completed her associates degree during her time at Blue Cross Blue Shield.
In 1984, Bee had her first grandchild, Timothy Joshua Cook, followed by the girl she had always been waiting for, Lindsey Ann Cook, in 1985. She spent the last 36 years doting on both of her grandchildren, attending soccer and baseball games and cheering them on along the way. She planned yearly family vacations to the beach, skiing and NYC. She hosted weekend sleepovers nearly every weekend and spoiled the children unabashedly! She bragged to her friends about them at every opportunity!
Bee was a great-grandmother to five! Each of them brought such joy to her and she wanted to spend time with them as often as she could. Again, she attended sporting events, birthday parties and family gatherings to continue to build a close relationship that spanned 3 generations.
Bee was preceded in death by her mother, Zelder Coffelt; her stepfather, Noah Coffelt; her brothers, Lloyd and Wesley Smith; and younger brother, Lee Coffelt.
She is survived by her sons, Dan Cook of Houston, Texas and Tim Cook and his wife, Gina, of Tulsa, OK; grandson, Joshua Cook, his wife Amy; and granddaughter, Lindsey DeSirey and her husband Michael. Her five great-grandchildren: Cade and Piper Rainwater, Ethan and Olivia Cook, and Grey DeSirey.
She will be greatly missed and she will be forever in our hearts.
We love you Bee.
