Byrum C. Lee, the second of five children of Ernest C. Lee and Eula Curtis Lee, was born February 19, 1919 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away May 3, 2016.
Byrum attended Tulsa Public Schools, graduating from Tulsa Central High School in 1936. He attended Anderson College, Anderson, IN and Pacific Bible College, Portland, OR. He pastored churches in Oklahoma, Texas, California, Oregon, Idaho, Kansas and Virginia.
Byrum married Genevieve England in Tulsa in 1941. They had four children, Virginia, Barbara, Byrum, Jr. and Patricia. Genevieve passed away in 1977. In 1985 Byrum married Wylodean Kimsey.
After retirement in 1990 he continued his ministry by writing poems, songs and Christian articles for the rest of his life.
Preceding Byrum in death were his wife, Genevieve and daughters, Virginia and Patricia; also both his parents Ernest and Eula Lee, brother Harold E. Lee and sister Irene Lee.
Surviving him are wife Wylodean, a daughter Barbara Zinn (Edward), son Byrum C. Lee, Jr., grandchildren Wesley Stiles, Karen Zinn, Kira (Lee) Routh, Brenan (Lee) Graham, Cooper Lee, Allison (Hester) Page, William Hester, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are Ron Stiles and Tom Hester, spouses of Virginia and Patricia. Other survivors include a brother, W. Curtis Lee (Martha), and sister, Betty Stephenson (Loren). In addition to these are numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins, including nephew, Donald H. Lee, his wife Ruby, and their family who provided care for him on a daily basis during the last few months of his life.
Visitation will be 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, Ok. Service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Moore's Southlawn. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
