Caecilia Moeker passed away peacefully of natural causes at the age of 100 on March 4, 2023, in Tulsa Oklahoma with her husband holding her hand and her family by her side. She was born on November 22, 1922, in Klingnau, Switzerland. Her parents were Alfons and Teresia (Hildegard) Fehr, and her siblings are Josef Fehr, Alfons Fehr (deceased) and Paul Fehr, (deceased).
Caecilia is survived by her husband Joe Moeker; son Felix Moeker and his wife Debbie, daughter, Bea Hathcock and her husband Greg, and son Urs Moeker and his wife Kathy. Her grandchildren are Kristin Stendahl, Eric Moeker, Casey Hathcock, Kyle Hathcock, TJ Hathcock, & Marc Moeker. Her great grandchildren are Kynzi Aguirre, Lexi Aguirre, Silas Aguirre, Anders Moeker, Ana Moeker, Oliver Moeker, Mary Stendahl, and Parker Kennedy. Caecilia is also survived by her brother and nieces and nephews, Josef Fehr, Anne Marie Pasquier, Cecile Buerge, Paul Fehr, and Simon Fehr.
Caecilia married Joe Moeker on June 6, 1957, in Switzerland's Black Forest. They lived in Switzerland briefly before moving to Quebec Canada where they had their son Felix. After a couple of years, they moved to Tulsa Oklahoma and had their daughter Bea and son Urs. Two years later they move back to Klingnau Switzerland, to be close to Caecilia's family. After another 2 years, they moved back to Tulsa Oklahoma. Twenty years later, they moved to Murfreesboro Tennessee where they lived for 36 years. In her final year, Caecilia and Joe moved back to Tulsa Oklahoma so they could be close to their caring and loving daughter Bea.
Caecilia had an enthusiasm for working and helping. She started her career working in a pharmacy in Dottingen and later in Boden Switzerland. Upon the birth of her children, she focused on being a devoted stay at home mom, instilling the values of education, honesty, and religion. After all her children went off to college, she went back to school at the age of 56, so she could resume her career. She received an associate degree in accounting and went back to work in accounts payable for 6 years in Tulsa. After moving to Tennessee, she continued working as a volunteer for 12 years helping individuals and families obtain financial assistance.
Caecilia loved to travel. She often told of her travels to Italy as a young woman with her cousins, Beatrice & Hildegard. She and her husband Joe, took their children to Germany and Switzerland to see their families and the sites. She returned to Switzerland on a few other occasions, one time with her daughter, Bea.
She talked fondly about her childhood in her family home the Kloster, a converted monastery, and her family's vineyard. She was a staunch Catholic. While in Tulsa, she and Joe joined the Swiss Club and made many close and lifelong friends. She especially enjoyed working in the garden, planting her flowers, and watching the birds.
Caecilia was a devoted mother and wife. Her family will remember her strength, determination, and caring spirit.
Grave side services will be on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa OK.
