Candace Johnson Miller passed away peacefully January 2 in Tulsa, surrounded by friends and family. Raised in Roanoke, Virginia, by Louise and Dr. Marcellus A. Johnson, Candace attended Converse College and received her Master's from the University of Tulsa.
A dedicated educator and advocate, Candace worked as a speech pathologist in Tulsa Public Schools and in private practice, with a focus on helping children with disabilities. Candace was also a community leader in local service organizations.
Candace shared her passion for life with everyone around her. A lover of mountains, the beach, all things chocolate, and a good party, Candace always sought ways to help and care for others. Famed for her matchmaking skills, Candace also introduced many other happy couples.
Candace was married to George Miller for 43 wonderful years. She is survived by her husband George, sons Marc, Weston and daughter-in-law Jessica Winans, and sisters Barbara Sykes and Pamela Lee. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
