Carla DeAnn Tewell was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 28, 1989. She passed from this life on January 18, 2019 just north of Caney Kansas. She was 29 years old at the time of her death.

She is survived by her precious son, nine-year old Caiden Steven Tubbs, and Caiden's father, Adam Tubbs. Immediate family survivors include her mom, Deborah Tewell, her father, Carl Tewell, her two brothers, Sean and Jared Tewell, and her sister Tabitha Tewell. Survivors on her father's side include her grandmother, Laura Tewell, her aunts, Susan Nicholson and Teresa Muir, and Teresa's husband, Allan Muir. Her first cousins included Susan's children Nicole, Rachel, Sarah, and Jessica; and Teresa's children, Jon and Luc. Other survivors include her great aunt, Lois Cookin, great uncles, Ken Remington, Lee Remington, Terry Remington, and Tim Remington, and several second and third cousins of the Remington and Tewell households. On her mother's side, survivors include her uncle, Mike Davis, and his wife Linda.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Franklin Richard Tewell, her grandfather, George Davis, and her grandmother, Peggy Davis.

Carla was greatly loved. Words cannot express how heart-broken her family is.

Carla attended numerous Christian schools during her elementary and secondary school years including Bethel Life, in Wichita, Grace Fellowship Christian School, Summit Christian Academy, and Victory Christian School. From 5th through 9th grade she played basketball and improved her game every year. She completed high school at Oklahoma University High School where she graduated in 2007.

While growing up in Wichita Carla attended Rolling Hills Church of God. The family later started attending Word of Life Church. Once the Tewell family moved back to Tulsa, Carla attended several churches in the area including Rhema Bible Church, Broken Arrow Assembly, and Rivergate church.

She began her work career during her youth at a restaurant at Tulsa International Airport. Carla also worked for Wal-mart for six months. But, she enjoyed waiting on tables the most. She did this first at Monterey's on Sheridan. Other restaurants where she served include Stone Mill Barbeque, Loui's in Jenks, the Claret Cafe, and Mi Cocina. She most recently returned to work for Loui's at their 101st and Sheridan location.

Carla attended college at Tulsa Community College and Oklahoma State University - Tulsa. She was nine hours short of completing her degree and was working on returning to school this year.

Carla's death was tragic in so many ways. We know Jesus had much better for her in this life. It is our family's prayer that as you consider her life in this time that you examine your own. If you have needs or situations where you feel trapped and unable to escape, look to Jesus for grace. He will provide.
