Obituary
Carol Kinnison Baker went to meet her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ June 11, 2025. She was born February 10, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. C. C. and Lorene Kinnison and survived by her sister Janice Walker of Arlington Texas.
Carol spent her childhood and attended grade school in Bronson Kansas then, when her father moved his medical practice, attended high school in Blackwell Oklahoma. She selected Oklahoma A&M before it became Oklahoma State to attend college where she met Chuck the first month of her freshman year. They were married September 1,1954 after she had started working in the A&M Horticulture Department to earn her PHT (Put Hubby Through). Carol and her family then lived in St. Louis Missouri, Dallas Texas and Rockford Illinois. She and Chuck traveled the world for several years after he sold his business in 1989. They then selected the Colorado mountain town of Vail for retirement where they lived for 17 years before settling at the Montereau Retirement Center in Tulsa after there proved to be insufficient oxygen at an altitude of 8200 ft.
Carol's faith has always been at the center of her life and she was actively involved in churches, attending and leading bible studies and counseling young women in each of the cities where she lived.
Carol loved people and readily made many close friends wherever she lived. She was a warm, caring, supportive partner and wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to husband Chuck, Children Steven (Liz) Baker of Volente Texas, Michele (Gordon) Martin of Argyle Texas and Vail Colorado and Stacy (John) Bloomberg of West Chester Ohio, Grandchildren Dr Erik (Collete) Martin of Richardson Texas, Ryan (Amanda) Martin Esquire of Prosper Texas, Shelby (Chapman) Barlow of Argyle Texas, Ashley (Jake) Cranfield of Edmond Oklahoma, Matthew (Katlyn) Bloomberg of Canal Winchester Ohio, Eric Bloomberg of Birmingham Alabama, Sunny (Jimmy) Chisholm of Mason Ohio and Chase Baker of Volente Texas, Great Grandchildren Emery and Jalen Martin, Mason and Max Martin, Parker, Chapman, and Foster Barlow, Brooks, Blakely and Peyton Cranfield and Jamie Chisholm.
Carol's 90th birthday and 70th wedding anniversary were marked with a surprise celebration by the 33 members of her family at the Gaylord Texan Resort last year.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Life.Church Attention: Giving, 4600 E 2nd St. Edmond, OK 73034 are suggested.
