Obituary

Carol Ann Dixon (nee Frederick)
Carol Ann Dixon, Tulsa OK, 83, died Sept. 5th.
Born June 4, 1935 to the late Dale and Florence Frederick.
Over the years, she has delighted family and friends with her full, varied and colorful life that began in Cleveland Ohio and Fort Wayne Indiana. After high school graduation, Carol moved to St. Louis where she was a key punch operator. Engaged to another, she spied Virgil Dixon at a company dance, and they were married three weeks later.
Carol happily became a "Domestic Goddess", raising Laura Lee and Randall Gene. Carol and Virgil lived from California to New York, with stops along the way. They relocated to Ponca City, OK in 1972. Carol was a community volunteer, running the Meals on Wheels program, dancing, playing bridge, golf and hosting parties with Virgil.
In 1983, Virgil's job with IBM took them to Seoul Korea for three years, then to Saudi Arabia for two years (Saudi Business Machines). Mom enjoyed meeting people. She took pleasure in playing games, social bridge, crafts, sewing and reading. She and Virgil were world travelers.
At their return to Ponca City in 1988, they retired to Hot Springs Village, AR. Many lovely years were spent there. As a widow, in 2012, she moved to Tulsa OK to be closer to family. This was her first solo move in 46 years. Mom loved Tulsa. She volunteered at Bargains (Assistance League), played social cards, bridge and mahjong, attending musical events, traveled and spent time with family. Carol was known for her snappy "updated" wardrobe and loved shopping. Let's hope there is a shoe store in Heaven that only stocks shoes in 9.5 N.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Warren Dixon. Survivors are daughter Laura Lee Smith and husband Monte Phil of Owasso OK; son Randall Gene Dixon of Celina TX; grandchildren Meaghan Brenna Story and husband Michael of OKC, OK; Christy Dixon of Celina TX. Great grandchildren Brendon Joseph and Evangeline Rose Story of OKC, OK. Beloved cousin, Holly Bundy, of Clovis, CA.
