Carol Leona (Patteson) Foster, age 80, of Tulsa, Oklahoma died in hospice care on August 26, 2026. She was born July 28, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. Carol is most described through her love. She enjoyed being with family and friends. She loved swimming, cooking on a fire, and good company. She enjoyed cooking for her family, but relished giving instructions to her kids and grandkids as they prepared a meal. While raising her kids, her summers were spent gardening, canning, and refereeing disputes over what show to watch. She baked and decorated many cakes for birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings. She and her sister worked together to make delicious treats most holidays and then fought all the kids to keep them from eating them before the holidays arrived. She loved to sew and crochet. She has made countless baby blankets, afghans, dresses, shirts, and costumes. She made and sold all kinds of crafts. She was a member at Garnett Road Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

After running a daycare in her home and loving every child that entered under her care, Carol worked as a lunch lady in several public schools. Her real jubilation came in retirement with her husband. They traveled the country in their fifth-wheel trailer visiting 49 states and several Canadian provinces. She even traveled to Hawaii, accomplishing her lifelong goal of seeing all 50 states. They would winter in Mission, Texas, at Green Gate Grove making friends from all over the US and Canada. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her grandkids from Kansas to Kentucky to Arkansas and all the way to Honduras.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, David Lee Foster, her parents James Russell Lowell and Phyllis Leona (Dutton) Patteson. She is survived by three siblings John Patteson and his wife Pat, Doris Hammons and her husband Robert, and Rusty Patteson and his wife Kay. Her children Robert Lee Foster and his wife Lea Andra; Carrie Leona Foster, Babette Patteson, Yvette Boose, and James David Foster and wife Brittany. Grandchildren, Natalea Morris and her husband Jacob, Madeleine Foster, Gus Foster, Jake Foster and his wife Brooke, Abby Foster, and Nicholas Foster. Five great-grandchildren, Addison Morris, Clem Foster, Mavis Foster, Emma Kate Morris, and one on the way.

Having lost her father at a young age, Carol was always careful to tell her family that she loved them and they felt her love. She will be greatly missed by her family and a host of friends. Her warm smile, gentle hugs, and kind kisses will be treasured memories for us all. Carol was a mother to many, a friend to all, and a stranger to none. This one dark day will not dull the shine she brought into this world.

Visitation will be at Moore Funeral Home, 9350 E 51st St, Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday September 1, 2026, from 5:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will follow on September 2, 10:00 am at Garnett Road Baptist Church, 620 S Garnett Rd Tulsa and interment, 2:30 pm at Round Mound Cemetery 904 Rd 8 Cedar Vale, Kansas.
