Carol Sue Foy, 90, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2024. She was born in Bixby, OK on February 3rd, 1934 and spent most of her young life in Jenks, then later in Tulsa and in Monkey Island, OK. The last few years were spent in Oklahoma City. She was the oldest of five kids to Ovie and Bertha Brown.
Carol loved the lake life and took her family there as often as possible, until moving to Monkey Island later in life. As a teenager, she committed her life to Jesus Christ, sang in the church choir and did solos, while always making good grades in school in Jenks. She married Jay Bill Foy of Tulsa in 1953 and they were married for 66 years until his death. Early in marriage, they lived in Honolulu Hawaii and San Diego CA due to Jay being in the Navy. Their marriage led to three children: Vickie, Chris, and Karen.
After marriage, Carol and Jay became very active in square dancing in Tulsa. Carol was a homemaker and a great mother. She also enjoyed spending time at her parent's house in Jenks seeing her siblings and other family members. She loved Jay and her children and spent her life pleasing them and her Lord Jesus Christ. She was well known for her commitment to them. Later in life she worked part-time in retail and liked gaining those new skills. She also became active in Red Hats and later in the Audubon Society. She loved growing flowers and caring for them, and loved beautiful views. These loves led to her finding the perfect home in Monkey Island, that she convinced Jay to buy. The home brought great happiness and joy to them both. She was active at Monkey Island Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She always had a servant attitude in helping her children, grand-children and friends.
Carol is survived by daughters, Vickie Jones and her husband J.W. of Oklahoma City, OK, Karen Landreth and her husband Ty of Little Rock, AR, son Chris and his wife Susan of Colleyville, TX; sister Janet Melton and husband Steve of Claremore, and brother Larry Brown and wife Linda of Tulsa; 11 grandkids, seven great-grandkids, and many other relatives and friends across Oklahoma and the country.
