Carolyn Chaffin, 83, of Tulsa, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020. She was born January 16, 1937 in Atoka, OK to Melvin Ishmael, Sr. and Carmen Ishmael. She was a retired beautician and then worked as a secretary at the University of Oklahoma. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and enjoyed walks, embroidery, quilting and antiques. Carolyn is survived by her children, Deborah Chaffin of Tulsa, Steven Chaffin of Eufaula, Ricky Chaffin and wife, Karen of Pleasant Hill, CA; grandchildren, Adam White, Meghan Chaffin, Lindsey Chaffin, Shannon Chaffin, Daniel Chaffin: great-grandchildren, Blaine and Kristen Chaffin; her siblings, Marvin Ishmael and Debbie of Atoka, Melvin Ishmael, Jr. and Irene of Atoka, Gordon Ishmael and Betty of Tulsa and Martha Morse of Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonnie Chaffin; brothers, John Ishmael, Hal Ishmael; sisters, Helen Ann Lennard, Lillian Frank, and her half-sister, Jean Stamps.
