Carolyn Sue Cravens went to be with the Lord Wednesday December 10, 2014 at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 40 days. She died at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a lengthy battle with cancer. Sue was born April 17, 1934 in Carthage, Missouri the third daughter of John L. and Hattie Kathleen White. At a young age Sue's family moved from Carthage, Missouri to Oklahoma where she graduated from Tulsa Will Rogers High School in 1952. Sue was a homemaker until she began her career in the banking industry. For a time she lived in Depew, Oklahoma moving back to Tulsa in 1992. She continued working primarily as a loan processor until her retirement from Stillwater National Bank.
Sue spent her retirement years exploring the back roads of Oklahoma where she bought antique furniture and other items to sell at her booths in various area antique malls. Her favorite television program was The Antique Road Show. While she enjoyed antiques her passion was gardening. Sue was a Master Gardner certified by Oklahoma State University Extension in Tulsa.
On November 7, 1999 Sue married Larry Eugene Cravens in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Christ United Methodist Church. Prior to her death Sue and Larry attended First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Sue was preceded in death by her father and mother. Left to cherish her memory: her husband Larry Cravens, of the home, her daughter Cathy Diane Thomas and her husband Brent of Newton, Kansas, her son Roy Longstreet McGhee, III (Sandy) and his wife Tina of Tulsa, Oklahoma, step children Brett Fuller and family of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Chris Cravens and family of Crockett, Texas, Michelle Wolfenberger and family of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mindy Himebaugh and family of Owasso, Oklahoma, her sisters Shirley White of Houston, TX, Kay Goates of Pasadena, Texas, and four grandchildren Keri Kerr, Lauren English, Wendy Sumpter, and Michael McGhee. Sue was loved by her nieces, nephews, six great grandchildren, and many friends.
Visitation is Sunday December 14, 2014 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the Moore Eastlawn Chapel. Sue's celebration of life services are scheduled for 2:00pm Monday December 15, 2014 at the First Baptist Church 100 W Albany in Broken Arrow, OK Followed by graveside service and interment at Memorial Park Cemetery 5111 S Memorial Dr. Tulsa, OK 74145. All services are under the direction of Moore Funeral Homes.
