Carolyn E. Parish Freeland Morris was born in Dothan, AL on January 10, 1929 to Theodore and Lemma Dean Parish. She passed away in Tulsa, OK on February 2, 2018 at the age of 89.
Carolyn grew up in Vernon, FL, attended Florida Southern, married William E. Freeland, and settled in Corpus Christi, Texas. They were married for 36 years preceding his death in 1984. She was remarried to Joseph P. Morris for 21 years preceding his death in 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Theodore Parish Jr.
She is survived by two brothers, James Parish of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Howell Parish of Skipperville, AL, two daughters, Dean Ann Smith of Lake Village, AR and Karen Freeland of Tulsa, OK, one son, David J. Freeland of Tulsa, OK, one uncle, Jesse Dean of Dothan, AL, four grandchildren, Jeneane Glasgow, Michele Wilson Freeman, James E. Smith, and Matthew Wilson, seven great grandchildren, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carolyn loved to sing.
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines in Corpus, taught Sunday School, and sang in the church choir. She worked for Sun Oil Co. for 22 years. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and cryptoquotes.
