Obituary

In loving memory of Carolyn Joyce Gray

Carolyn Joyce Gray, age 83 entered her heavenly home on June 9, 2026. She was born on December 14, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas to Reverend William "Bill" Garland and Joy Garland.

Carolyn was welcomed into heaven by her parents and many beloved family members and friends who had gone before her. Her greatest joy was her faith in Jesus Christ, and she lived her life, loving the Lord, her family, and her church.

She is survived by her devoted and beloved daughter, Deanna Hudson, and her son-in-law, Mike Hudson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Her granddaughters, Heather Lynn Hudson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Samantha Jean "Sammye" Hudson of Chicago, Illinois. Her son Donnie Blaney of Spokane, Washington; grandchildren, Michael Blaney, Shaylynn Schultz, and Brian Blaney. Great-grandchildren Melia and Kennady Schultz and Alyssa and Christian Lutey. She is also survived by her honorary daughter, Laurie Ellis of Spokane, Washington.

Carolyn was the oldest of the Garland children and is survived by her siblings Darrell Garland and wife Tippi of Reno, Nevada, Carey Garland and wife Diana of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kathy Blevins and husband Jerry of Ochelata, Oklahoma, Janice Bordigioni and husband Tom of Reno, Nevada, Anita Murray and husband Scott of Phoenix, Arizona.

Carolyn graduated from Cleveland High School in 1961. Soon afterward, she married and began raising her family. As a military wife, she lived in many states including Guam, before eventually returning to Oklahoma, which she considered home.

For more than 30 years, Carolyn enjoyed a successful career as a Mary Kay Consultant, achieving many goals and building lasting friendships along the way. She was also a faithful member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she loved worshiping, serving and spending time with her cherished Sunday School Class.

Anyone who knew Carolyn knew of her love for cats over the years she cared for many feline companions and never lost her affection for them. Her beloved cat, Tigger will continue to reside with the Hudson family in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

During the last year of her life, Carolyn made her home at Senior Suites and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. While it was not where she'd hoped to spend her final years. She deeply loved the nurses, aides and housekeepers who cared for her. They loved her sass, her humor, and her sweet spirit, and she treasured the kindness and genuine affection they showed her every day. Whether it was a friendly visit, a warm smile, or an extra back scratch when she wasn't feeling well. Their care brought her comfort and joy.

The family would also like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to ACG Hospice for their compassionate care, attention and support. Your kindness meant so much to Carolyn and those who loved her.

Carolyn will be remembered for her strong faith, her loving heart and sassy personality. Though she will be greatly missed, her loved ones rejoice in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.

Well done, good and faithful servant,

Matthew 25v23.
