Carolyn June Jones, 84, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born June 15, 1940, in Stidham, Oklahoma - one of seven children born to Cecil and Ruby James. Carolyn attended Stidham Schools until the middle of her senior year when she met her high school sweetheart, Tommy Jones. She married her brown-eyed handsome man on November 18, 1957. They moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she finished her senior year.
She was a master of many things, including cooking, bookkeeping, and sewing; and her decorating was impeccable. Her hobbies included gardening, archery, and keeping score for her daughters' softball and her son's baseball teams.
Carolyn was instrumental in the success and reputation of Jones Body Shop of Tulsa. She loved gardening, whether it was harvesting vegetables or her beautiful Don Juan red roses.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Leon Jones, sons Steven Eric Jones and Tommy Leon Jones Jr., her parents, Cecil and Ruby James, and siblings Patricia and Fred James.
She is survived by her daughters Regina Cook of Tulsa and Tina Marie Jones-Wilkes and husband Robby of Broken Arrow; her granddaughters Tama Rollings and husband Bryan of Richardson, Texas, Amanda Brown and husband Caleb of Broken Arrow, Carlton Cook of Tulsa, and Alyssa Hacker and husband Colby of Coweta. She also has six greatgrandchildren: Owen, Bella, Tucker, Emmitt, Rhett, and Jennings. Carolyn's surviving siblings are Ronald James and wife Iris of Fort Worth, Texas; Donald James and wife Beverly of DeBary, Florida; Diane Ulom and husband Mike of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; Jolene Kennon and husband Grady of Owasso. She had many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved and touched deeply. They, in turn, all loved her dearly. Her quiet touch, Thanksgiving dinners, sweet gifts, and loving hugs of encouragement touched this big family.
We would be remiss if we did not mention Carolyn's private caregivers - Stella, Mary, and Kristen; the staff of Millennium Home Health Care and Hospice - "It takes a village". We will forever be grateful for the love, care, and compassion they have shown. On a lighter note, Carolyn's last six years and final days were made so happy by her "Bad Girls" at Town Village.
