Carolyn Sue Nickle, age 87, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022. Carolyn was born May 11, 1935 in McCurtain, Oklahoma. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 69 years, Jimmie D. Nickle of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her son Robert Keith Nickle and his wife Deborah Lynn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Her brother, Gerald Miller of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and daughter in-law, Debbie Sue Nickle. Grandchildren, Ashley Herd and her husband Joseph of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Dustin Nickle and his wife, Karen of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lauren Kliewer and her husband, Samuel of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. 5 great-grandchildren: Brecken Herd & Anniston Herd of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Allison Nickle & Parker Nickle of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Macie Kliewer of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Carolyn is preceded in death by her son, James Michael Nickle, and parents, Doyle and Elaine Miller.
Carolyn was born to Doyle & Elaine Miller. She grew up in Wagoner, Oklahoma and graduated from Wagoner High School in 1953. Carolyn competed in numerous beauty competitions and participated in debutante activities as well. Carolyn married her soul mate Jimmie on August 15, 1953 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Together they raised their sons, Robert Keith, and James Michael, in Tulsa. She dedicated & devoted her life to her children, husband and family while advancing the lives and interests of her loved ones. Carolyn was a remarkable gourmet cook and highly enjoyed preparing meals for her loved ones with her consistent love and willingness to help in all situations.
Her family is at peace knowing that Carolyn has been called to join heaven and reunite with her departed son, James Michael and hold hands with him again.
A joint visitation for both Jimmie and Carolyn will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at Moore's Southlawn from 6-8pm. A graveside service will be held for both 2pm, Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
