Obituary

Carolyn O'Hair, a beloved sister-in-law, aunt, grandmother, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, and friend, passed away in Tulsa on Wednesday, August 27th, at the age of 84. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 31, 1940, to the late Otis and Fontella Adcock, Carolyn was a dedicated Christian with a one-of-a-kind personality.

Carolyn was a proud graduate of Will Rogers High School, class of '58 and a graduate of TU. Her professional career started at Brookside State Bank, where she also continued her education to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She then went on to work at the Roy E. Thomas CPA firm, and later joined Sartain Fishbine and Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where her dedication and expertise led her to become the Director of the Telecommunications Division and, ultimately, a partner in the company. Her professional life was a testament to her love of numbers and her unwavering work ethic.

Beyond her career, Carolyn was a faithful member of the Memorial Drive Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She also loved the theater and enjoyed travel, including some international travel. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, which could sometimes be mistaken for a smirk, and a wonderful sense of humor that could be seen as cynical by some. Despite this, she never met a person she didn't like. She had a deep and unusual passion for clowns, which she loved to collect. She also had a great passion for decorating her backyard and back patio. While she loved being outside, she was not fond of bugs, so she could often be found in her screened-in back patio, enjoying the view with her remote-controlled screens.

Carolyn was also an avid deer hunter. She had an adventurous spirit, and her encounters with deer often had memorable and unexpected results, always ending in a one-to-one kill ratio with the Lexus she was driving and the deer involved in the accident.

She is survived by her loving sister-in-law, Linda Adcock, her niece, Tracey Mahoney (Bobby Mahoney), her nephew, Tim Adcock, a granddaughter, two great-nephews, two great-granddaughters, four great-great nieces, and two great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Fontella Adcock, her son, Larry O'Hair, and her loving brother, James Adcock.

A visitation will be held at Moore's Southlawn Chapel on Thursday, September 4th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held at the Moore's Southlawn Chapel on Friday, September 5th, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
